Why Do Some Banks Have an Automatic Connection and Others Don’t?

With the introduction of the PSD2 regulation, all banks now offer an automatic bank connection. This allows platforms like Gekko to easily import your bank transactions for your bookkeeping.

The automatic bank connection imports transactions from your bank account going back up to approximately one year. Of course, you need to give permission first, which is a simple process. By law, you must renew this permission every 180 days.

Keep in mind, not all banks with a PSD2 connection are supported by our banking integration partner. Some online banks, such as PayPal or Wise, are not (yet) supported.
