As an entrepreneur, you have a legal obligation to retain your financial records. The legal retention period for you as an entrepreneur is 7 years. However, certain data relating to your business must be retained for ten years. The tax authorities (de Belastingdienst) may check your financial records from seven years ago, so make sure your data is stored properly. Read the Gekko wiki about Financial record keeping obligation for more information about which data that must be retained for 7 and 10 years, and for who this is relevant.
