Payment Requests via Rootline

Gekko uses Rootline to easily add a payment link to the invoice. This allows your customer to pay you quickly and easily. Rootline is licensed by the Dutch Central Bank and is based in Amsterdam.


Below you will find the steps to send your first payment request via Rootline.

  1. Create an invoice and go to the Email tab.

  2. Try to add an online payment link to your invoice. saying. This will start your application to create a Rootline account for payment requests in Gekko.

  3. Click on 'Get started' to start your Rootline application.

  4. Select the Legal form of your company and click Next.

  5. Fill in your personal / business information, make sure you have the following documents:
    • Digital copy of your ID, like your passport;
    • KvK registration form;
    • Tax ID document.

  6. Fill in your bank account.
    Please provide the bank account that you want Rootline to send your payouts to. The name of the bank account holder should correspond with the name of the business.

  7. Declare that you are authorized and agree with the Rootline agreement.

  8. Finish your request! Your request will be processed (usually) within one working day.

  9. Go to getgekko.com/en/accounts/ideal-payment/ to check if you Rootline account is verified.
