Since a new update in the beginning of 2025, the Gekko Costs app is unfortunately no longer supported on devices running Android version 10.0 or below. This decision was made to ensure we can continue to provide the best experience, security, and performance for our users.
Android 10 was officially released in 2019, and since then, significant improvements have been made in newer versions of the operating system. To take full advantage of these updates and maintain compatibility with essential third-party tools and services, we’ve had to update the Gekko Costs app in ways that are no longer compatible with older versions of Android.
What does this mean for you?
If your device is running Android 11 or newer, you don’t need to take any action — the Gekko Costs app will continue to work as expected.
If your device is running Android 10 or below, you may experience issues such as the app not opening, syncing errors, or limited functionality. We recommend updating your device to a newer Android version if possible.
Are other Gekko apps affected?
Not yet, all other Gekko apps remain fully supported on Android 10 and above. This change applies only to the Gekko Costs app.
However, later in 2025 other Gekko apps will also receive an update which will no longer fully functional on devices running Android 10.
