Created by Dennis van Rooij, Modified on Thu, 11 Sep at 12:01 PM by Dennis van Rooij

1. Create your account

  1. Go to: getgekko.com/en/accountants/

  2. Create your Gekko accountant account.

2. Invite clients

  1. Open your customer overview in Gekko.

  2. Invite your first client via email. Please note:

    • The client must be an existing Gekko user.

    • The email address must be linked to the client’s Gekko account.

    • The email address is case-sensitive.

  3. The client will see your invitation:

    • In their Gekko dashboard on the right-hand side, or

    • Via a bell notification next to the company name in the top-left corner.

  4. The client selects which company profile you get access to.

    • If the client has multiple company profiles, you must send a separate invitation for each profile to the same email address.

  5. Once the client accepts your invitation:

    • You will have access to the client’s Gekko account.

    • You can access their Gekko account through the control panel or by viewing the account directly.

3. Collaborating with your client

  • Any changes you make will appear in the client’s Account timeline (Dashboard bottom right).

  • This way, the client can always see which adjustments were made by you as their accountant.

4. Useful features for accountants

Standardize cost categories

  • From the ledger (top right), you can create cost categories.

  • These can be used by all your connected clients, helping keep bookkeeping consistent.

Mark reviewed costs with checkmarks

  • In the cost overview, you can use checkmarks to indicate which costs you have reviewed.

  • This makes it easy to keep track of verified expenses.
